JetBlue Media Baggage Policy Update

JetBlue offers a media bag rate for qualified media professionals traveling with camera, film, video, lighting, and sound equipment. This applies only to customers representing a local or national television network, broadcasting company, or commercial film-making company.

⚠️ Please note: The media bag rate does not apply to YouTubers, gamers, or TikTok creators.

Media Bag Rates

• Domestic & Latin America (U.S., Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, Central & South America):
  $50 per checked bag, starting with the first, up to 99 lbs (including oversized).
• International (Europe / UK itineraries):
  $70 / £50 / €70 per checked bag, up to 99 lbs.
• Restrictions:
  • Media bag rate does not apply to Blue Basic fares, JetBlue Groups, or JetBlue Vacations bookings.
  • Bag weight cannot exceed 99 lbs / 45 kg.
  • Rates cannot be applied retroactively post-travel; approval is required in advance.

Submission Requirements

• Submit a Media Bag Request Form at least 3 business days prior to travel. https://legacycms.jetblue.com/public/dam/ui-assets/p/MediaBagSubmissionRequestPDFFINA12418.pdf
• Provide a valid company-issued photo ID or media credentials along with the form.
• Email form + credentials to JetBlue for approval.
• Once approved, remarks are added to the reservation and bags must be checked in at a full-service counter.

Bag Limits by Aircraft

• A220 (140 seats): 10 bags max
• A320 (150 seats): 20 bags max
• A320 (162 seats): 10 bags max
• A321 (200 seats): 25 bags max
• A321 Mint: No restrictions
  Excess bags may be sent on the next available JetBlue-operated flight at the crew’s discretion.

Destination Restrictions

Media bag rates are not available on certain routes, including:

• Barbados (BGI) – JFK
• Boston (BOS) – Santo Domingo (SDQ) / Santiago (STI)
• Fort Lauderdale (FLL) – Guayaquil (GYE)
• JFK – Bermuda (BDA), Grenada (GND), Port-au-Prince (PAP), Port of Spain (POS), Santo Domingo (SDQ), Santiago (STI)
• Reno (RNO) – JFK
• St. Maarten (SXM) – JFK
• Select westbound A320 flights from East Coast cities (e.g., BOS–PHX, FLL–LAS, JFK–RNO, etc.)

Other Notes

• Tripods, selfie sticks, and similar telescopic devices count as a personal item if they meet carry-on size limits.
• Media bag rates are not available on interline or codeshare flights.
• JetBlue reserves the right to revoke the offer at any time.
